Long-distance move from Merrimack, NH to Chesapeake, VA

Great service

We hired RTM to move out of state. Our moving specialist, Sue Fielders, was outstanding- patient and so easy to work with. Our move went through a few iterations, multiple delivery stops, inventory list and final delivery address changes and their team handled it all, including a late change to the final delivery date! I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone!

Long-distance move from New Hampshire to Florida

Beware of Ray The Mover.

I hired ray the Mover of Manchester, PO Box 1060 Manchester, NH 03105 to move from Claremont NH to Seminole FL. the moving date was 5/1 and there representative knew I would not be able to meet the moving van in FL. because I had to finish out my school year until the end of June. I asked what would happen if anything was damaged in transit and Ken Schofield assured me that there was no reason to worry as I had 9 months to make a claim and that they would treat my possessions as if it were their personal belongings. Well to make a long story short not only did I have several  broken items but they lost apparently other things in transit. They provided only one wardrobe box for all my clothing and threw 95% of my clothes in a box with hangers attached so they came through incredibly wrinkled. When I asked them why only one wardrobe box for all my clothing they had no explanation. They left several items behind that were not even packed which I did not discover until several weeks later when the buyers of my house discovered them.  The entire process in dealing with them has been a nightmare. They would not even take responsibility and said if I had any claims or complaints I need to contact Stevens movers. I was led to believe I would be dealing ONLY with them and not some other company. I put in claims to Stevens with pictures and documentation and they wanted to give me a check for 158.00 to cover the damages but that does not even represent  a quarter of what was either broken or lost by them. I have sent pictures, explanations, talked with them on the phone numerous times and now they say another 30 days to appeal their original decision. Meanwhile Ray has done nothing to help or even talk to me. I asked to speak to their owner and they would not let me. They are a terrible company to deal with. I am contacting  the Attorney Generals office of NH to see if any one will hold them accountable. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !! .

Long-distance move from New Hampshire to Florida

Terrible Company.

First thing I can say is never use this company, one of if not the worst company out there.  I chose them to move us from NH to Florida, first mistake. The office people talk a good game, but won't tell the truth. Was picked up on July 31 was told 4-10 days for delivery, it was 18. Was given an estimate and then got a call saying it would cost $800 more dollars due on delivery, ok so that's two changes. The load finally arrived over 50% of the boxes were damaged, things broken, furniture scratched. Finally it was all unloaded the driver left. We had a TV a 50" Mitsubishi was packed in a TV box, had one complete roll of bubble wrap around it, pillows packed around it, I unpacked it plugged it in and the screen was shattered with cracks and breaks running through it. I called the office the lady there said well if the box wasn't damaged then it's not their fault. They charge extra because they tell you that when the driver gets here he is hiring a coupleOf people from the office here to unload, another lie, the three that unloaded all told me they were chose from a homeless shelter to do it and they have never unloaded a moving truck before. Overall it was $4000 total to move here and now the cost to replace all the broken items. I warn everyone stay away from this company. I am filing a damage report but they said at the company office it could take 9 months for an answer. HORRIBLE, COMPANY.  keep looking and don't stop here. again DO NOT use this company.

International move from , NH to , BC

Poor view of Ray the Mover and Allied Van Lines.

TL;DR: In my opinion, Ray the Mover and Allied Van Lines are a poor choice for international moves. Speaking personally, I would not trust them ever again to move a single box across a room, never mind across a city, state, or country. I feel they took quite a bit of my money and then didn't do their job. I feel cheated by them. I feel that they did not live up to informal commitments that I tried explicitly to discourage. And I feel that they failed to do the one thing I paid them for. Their written promise about the amount the move would cost was true just until they ran into something I'd warned them about but that they apparently didn't believe, so I face unexpected costs.

To begin with, let me note that I had mostly pleasant interpersonal interactions with Ray the Mover's staff. With the notable exception of the person who dealt with me when things started to go badly on moving-in day, the staff were on the whole pleasant and polite.

Unfortunately, I didn't hire them for their winning interpersonal skills. I hired them to get a move done, and they didn't do it. Maybe they'd be competent and effective at getting a local move done, and it's possible that "local" extends to all of New Hampshire. Beyond that, however, I would suggest finding someone else. I would also avoid using Allied Van Lines, for the same reasons.

I contacted Ray the Mover because I was moving from New Hampshire back to Canada. I had a particularly tricky problem, because by the time I'd finally reached an agreement with my house buyer and I had a very short close (by then,.

Local move from Manchester, NH to Hampton, NH

Ray the Mover.

I recently hired Ray the Mover to move from Manchester to Hampton NH. Ken S helped developed the quote in a time efficient manner. The crew consistenting of Michael M, Antonio B and Nicholas V showed up on time and executed their job to perfection. They carefully packed the apartment and loaded the van for the move to Hampton. Upon arrival we had the opportunity to share a few slices of pizza and then off to work. The team worked in unison, like a well tuned engine and in no time, the boxes were delivered and unpacked to perfection. I've moved over 12 times in my career and this was by far the best I have seen. Thanks to Ken, Michael, Antonio and Nicholas

Long-distance move from Bow, NH to Lincoln University, PA

Move from NH to PA

I would avoid this company at all costs. I cannot endorse this company at all. We moved from NH to PA in November 2020 and was horrible. They were not prepared for the driveway and had to rent smaller trucks to load our home and then unload into the trailer that they had to leave several miles away. The same thing happened in PA when they unloaded. So our property was moved from one truck to another to another to the new house. They damaged many items, a bedroom armoire, bed frame, TV (that they boxed but did not set up because they had smashed the TV screen) and many personal items that we packed (even though we marked the boxes fragile, they still were damaged). They even lost the legs to our coffee table and then claimed it was our fault, even though they disassembled it in NH. I found a TV stand for our MBR TV in a garden cart left outside by the garden shed. We paid $16,000 for this move and bought the insurance only to find that if we packed it, the movers were not responsible for most of the damages that we packed and they moved. Even though they indicated up in NH that the personal items we packed were packed well, that story was changed when we noticed the damages and blamed us for the damages. Of course, the fact that the boxes were moved multiple times by them into and from different vehicles apparently was still our fault. Of course, making the transitions from vehicle to vehicle was still our fault. Out of nearly $15,000 in damages and replacement costs, the insurance paid less than $4,000.
